REV. JOHN KIRWIN, a retired priest of the Albany Diocese, offered a reflection after the shootings at a Parkland, Fla., high school: "Where does this leave us in Lent 2018?....What change of heart are we called to? How do we flesh out our belief in the Good News? How do we make the kingdom of God more visible? We, too, are tempted - tempted to inaction. What if we did a serious fast from such violence, this Lent? What if we had a Lent of listening: listening to what the survivors at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School are saying to us? Would the feast of the resurrection prove to be more glorious and life-giving than we have known it in recent years? We have six weeks, with God's help, to accomplish it"....
